What is Poster Making?
— A poster is a visual presentation of information. It has the showcase of different colors. You can show your thought and ideas through making a poster. Poster making can be done by everyone- young or adult. You can also do the promotions through poster-slogan making.
This basic ways are:
1.Determine the theme of the poster that you are going to make.For example :
– environmental, nationalist, humanitarian, scientific,religious, etc.
2.Have creative ideas.
-Just the simple act of writing down all your ideas about a topic, it can make you think of many more!
-Just follow the questions “who? what? why? where? when?” to have ideas.
3.Colors of your poster. Using pastel colors are the best.Remember the following color basic tips.
-Contrasting colors (ex: light on dark and dark on light) are the most visible.
-Unless you are working on a very dark or black poster board, avoid using yellow in your lettering.You can use white color.
-Too many colors can spoil the mix! Do not use more than 2 or 3 main colors on your poster.
-Use same family colors like: dark blue-sky blue-white, green-yellow green-yellow or white, brown-gold-flesh, etc..
4.Adding a background to your poster. It can make it more appealing and ease the worry of how you are going to fill that “big white space” otherwise known as your poster board.
-If your the color of your drawing are light, use dark color.
– If it’s dark, use light color.
5.If you want to have a poster-slogan, write the sayings or the theme in light background.
– Be neat.
I have one example of a poster-making (as you can see below left side).
I’m the one who made this. My theme in making this is “Being Humanitarian, Religious, Nationalist and Environmental.” I made this for our Values Education Poster Making elimination in our classroom. Because of this, I was chosen to be the representative of our section in poster making contest. With this, I can promote our country, the Philippines because of it’s beautiful environment and landscapes. In our country, you can find a large number of religious people. Filipinos have a strong faith in God even though our country consists of different religious like Catholics, Baptists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventist , Mormons, Muslims and etc. Filipinos are also helpful in each other all the time especially in terms of needs. I am proud that I am a Filipino and I am proud that I am promoting our country using this Poster Making.
